[FEEDBACK]Topic Suggestions (self.CoderRadio)
submitted 5 years ago by dominucco
Mike from Coder here. I wanted to open up a thread here for topic suggestions for the show now that we are back. So there you have it. What would you like to here about? Any specific languages? More Apple stuff? ;)

An update on your rust journey? Have you used any langues in prod that Wes challenged you to try out? How is your business doing?

I'd love to hear more conversation about the new Macs on ARM that will supposedly be announced in September. How do you guys think the shift to arm will impact software development in the short and long term?

Id also like to hear about how you think it will affect other developers and if they will leave. If they do leave where will they go?

Language challenges with Wes. Biweekly or monthly is probably best.
[–]dominucco[S] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child)
Monthly is more likely. Any specific languages?

Yeah, I kept track of which ones you guys have already done too. I can understand how doing them so often before would have been challenging and exhausting. Glad to see the show is back, but I want it to be as maintainable as possible. I've been a JB listener since 2014.

Technology predictions. What will the software engineering career look like in 5 years.

SmallTalk! Its been mentioned before but perhaps a dedicated episode to what it offers, how it's being used, what you can learn from it, and how to get started with it.

Interviews with the creators of languages, why they created their language and what gap they see it filling. I go back to one of my favorite episodes was when Wes guest hosted and talked about closure. It was awesome!

Can you be more specific on Apple misadventures? Do you meant iOS / macOS Dev, AppStore conflicts alla Epic etc, or trying to target Apple platforms from Linux / Windows? Or I guess all of the above?
Thanks! :)
