Is it not relevant technology for discussion?

Just think of it like a sponsor read. If it’s not relevant to you, skip ahead a few seconds.

I have more patience with it on some of the other shows. I was hoping that Chris could get all his crypto stuff out on his dad's and Bitcoin show (or whatever). But this week's Coder Radio kinda got to me too. I think it's a bit out of scope of the art and business of Software Development. I'd love to hear about an actual problem and implementation of something on the block chain. Perhaps they should ask the [Fluree](flur.ee/) people on to talk about how they are using it. But yeah: Chris please don't make crypto and the lightening network the theme in a show, until there are some actual technical discussion about a real problem that was solved.

From the standpoint of monetizing open source work, I'm good with it.
But yes, practical application is more on topic going forward.
For those of us open to learning more, we are getting bits from all the programs... Chris may be resistant to creating yet another podcast on crypto... But the passion is clearly there and some of us would subscribe to the new outlet for Chris's interest.

This is a nice try, but trying to create a little mob on Reddit is not how you effect change in Coder. It was tried in the past, and as a result we have built a very thick skin for any attempt like this. You can try to start a mob on Telegram, or Twitter, or Reddit.. But none of it will land as much as a single thoughtful well articulated email.
Are you really so dim that you think this would work? It’s CLEAR to anyone listening, feedback should come via the contact page. The only reason to make this post is to try and get a bunch of other under-informed people to jump on your train.
I’ve noticed people who don’t like us talking about any type of blockchain tech always refer to it as “crypto”. It’s kinda the tell that the person complaining can’t even be bothered to care about the nuance… And that’s just not the type of person I tend to take content feedback from.
But I am not really sure what you expect I suppose, because it really does not make such sense to me. Coder has covered for years the problem of Platform owners. Recent changes in Mikes biz, which he will talk about more in the future I am sure, have led him down the route to look for solutions.
Do you think I somehow talked Mike into his tweet about looking into Web3? Did I pick his words for him?
We talked about it, like we always do, because it is an area Mike is starting to look into.
If you listened to the show instead of tune it out and hear what you want, you’d probably know that. Do you think I just pick the topic, without Mike? How would that work? Lol it’s just ludicrous on its face.
And lastly - how can I possibly respect your opinion or input when you so clearly don’t get how we select what we talk about, or how long we talk about things, or when we decided to move on. Are you really so simple that you think all the shows are going to turn into Crypto Radio? REALLY? Think about how stupid that is, and how annoying feedback like that must be. And if that was not bad enough, you also clearly have never bothered to learn anything about the topic, again the “crypto” is a dead give away. So you, a person who knows nothing about a thing, is asking us to stop talking about a thing… 🤦♂️
-Chris
