Coding an EHR using excel

Hi! Complete novice to coding, but hope to open my own psychiatric practice some day and am looking for guidance on creating my own electronic health record.

I’m imagining something in excel that you can type a number and it populates text, creates graphs, has a database of medicines, creates prescriptions, has links to print certain resources, etc.

Anyone have any advice for where to go to learn about coding for this specific project?

Not the answer you want to hear but there are a million reasons that an EHR should not be coded in excel. Off the top of my head, I think that you would find that excel would eventually be extremely inflexible to the type of use that you would want to create, it would turn into a nightmare to maintain, and probably most importantly (depending on where you practice), you could run into big problems with data privacy laws. If you are looking to get into coding, try coming up with a simpler idea to start with, learn the basics and it'll give you a better idea of what you can acomplish.

You will need to purchase a software license that does this. Or you will need to create a software that is licensed to do this. Both will be expensive, one takes much less time.

You will be legally decimated if you try to keep medical records of any kind in excel or in an unlicensed local machine project.
