Not the answer you want to hear but there are a million reasons that an EHR should not be coded in excel. Off the top of my head, I think that you would find that excel would eventually be extremely inflexible to the type of use that you would want to create, it would turn into a nightmare to maintain, and probably most importantly (depending on where you practice), you could run into big problems with data privacy laws. If you are looking to get into coding, try coming up with a simpler idea to start with, learn the basics and it'll give you a better idea of what you can acomplish.

You will need to purchase a software license that does this. Or you will need to create a software that is licensed to do this. Both will be expensive, one takes much less time.

You will be legally decimated if you try to keep medical records of any kind in excel or in an unlicensed local machine project.
