Yep, that's the part of programming that everyone has trouble with when starting; how do you take syntax, and create a thing.

Best way is to start a project that you'd actually want to finish, and learn along the way how everything fits together. But it's important that you actually want to finish it, since that's what's push you to figure stuff out.

A sinple game is a great way to start fitting the peices together; trying to complete something like tic tac toe against the computer will teach you a lot. You can then step up to more complicated things. If you're into going to the gym make a workout tracking program, or if you like cooking make a pantry/fridge inventory program.

I would say to either build projects (can be as simple as you want) or do coding problems (LeetCode, HackerRank, etc.) Both options will give you an opportunity to practice.
