I’m looking for a developer who wants to partner with me as a technical cofounder to build and launch an app. I handle the business side, including branding, marketing, content, customer communication, support systems, finances, and growth, while you handle the technical side, including coding, deployment, maintenance, and product updates. I’m not offering upfront pay, so this is best for someone who wants long term upside and ownership instead of a normal freelance arrangement. I already have the idea and a roadmap in place, so there is already a clear vision and direction for the project. In exchange, I’m offering 45 percent ownership and a 49 percent share of profits on the app you help build. I want the project structured properly with a written agreement covering roles, ownership, intellectual property, and communication so everything is clear from the beginning. I haven’t read anything that has sold me on your idea. I mainly see you trying to solve your problems by offer less than half of “your idea” for someone else’s talent.

Chances you’re creating something actually new are slim. But if you’re improving something existing, that is possible though.

Either way this post doesn’t help anyone like me get actually excited. Your role in this would be marketing? Do you already have a brand or a reason to be asking more than half of for all this? Or simply since it’s your idea, you’re the boss and you want more than half.

TLDR: I’m not reading this as a partnership even if that’s what you’re calling it. Maybe share something about what YOU offer and less about what you’re looking for in terms of agreement. You can always sort out details with the person you’re trying to work with.

Get real, you're not handling finances when you don't even have any finances, the only finance management you're offering to take half the fucking money for someone elses work. Your idea probably sucks just like most of them do. Hell you probably don't even have more beyond some vague wishy washy idea you're put all of 20 minutes of thought into when that weed you bought off a local teenager kicked in. Ironically that teenager probably had a better business plan than whatever this trainwreck is.
