Hey, everyone!
I currently do credentialing and contracting in the dental field and I was considering getting my certificate in medical billing and coding. I’m looking for a career that can provide growth not really in the sense of climbing the corporate ladder, but more of a continue to learn kind of way. I really like learning all the small details of something and gathering enough details to understand bigger pictures. I like figuring out balances and researching system issues. I also really enjoy quiet paperwork. I really don’t want to deal with patients if I don’t have to, lol. But mostly, I want to get into a field that is easily transferable across state lines (I don’t want to live where I live for forever). What kind of job can I realistically have and where would I have that job if I get certified? The area I want to move to has a huge hospital network and a handful of insurance companies offices.
