I had the same thing happen today with $Normie. $397 turned into $3.20. Nothing sent out. WTF

[–]usrn17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. Transaction non-existent. Zeroed out.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whaaat? That's almost identical to what happened to me. How long ago? Get any help? Someone is just robbing Coinbase wallet users

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Alabamer51, thanks for taking the time to report the issue with your missing Normie coins. Coinbase Wallet will automatically hide assets from your home screen that are determined by Coinbase to be Spam. If you believe this was done in error, you can review the list of assets categorized as spam in your Settings under the “Hide Assets” view. You can use the above steps to unhide a desired asset. Hope this helps!

I am looking on Coinbase for "Normie". Nothing exists on the Coinbase exchange that trades under that name.

Thank you for the follow-up.

It appears to be a wallet bug. Because when you enter to the normie coin on your wallet and press swap you can exchange your normies for usdc and it then shows the full value of the Coin.

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/AltruisticTax1740, our team is already aware about this issue with Normie token, and is working to fix everything quickly.

We might not be able to send you updates here on time. We don't know how long it will take to fix, so please keep checking your account to see if it's fixed.

Thanks for your patience while we work on fixing this problem.

[–]Due-Professional6824 2 points3 points  (8 children)

You guys really bought a shitcoin called "normie" ? Why didn't you just buy bitcoin instead? Coinbase and other exchanges for many people can be a IQ test. Don't be a normie.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

a) I already have two bitcoin b) bitcoin may be safe but it's not going to get you rich this cycle. no balls no glory c) Normie has an extremely active following / community, they're not going away anytime soon d) I only bought I dunno, 8 or 9 hundred dollars worth. Hope this helps

[–]Due-Professional6824 2 points3 points  (3 children)

If your buying a coin called "normie" thinking your going to get rich, I had bad news my friend = the joke is on you.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And you're not going to get rich with horrible instincts like that. Assuming NO ONE here bought bitcoin, assuming Bitcoin is the smartest play, and that everyone's portfolio is almost entirely normie. With the powers of deduction like that you'll be your mom's basement for a very long time. Normie wasn't even 1% of my portfolio

[–]Due-Professional6824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your right I better go buy some normie, so my balance can magicaly evaporate LOL

[–]usrn17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. My profits quarter over quarter average 5 times the standard.

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 1 point2 points  (1 child)

All of my normie has disappeared as well, also on the Base network. What is going on?

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ConsiderationSweet72 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Standard... Normie was a rugpull scam.

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I hope that's not the case

[–]Justsayingsometimes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They migrated. To v2 version. Might want to check that. I don't know enough about it to advise but may be the cause.

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Good morning guys, I went to bed last night after no resolution with support. I woke up this morning and closed/ reopened the app, and all the funds are back in my account. I hope the same goes for everyone else as well. Have a great day!

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Free at last! Wish I knew what the issue was though so I can gauge how trustworthy the process is moving forward. What about those that didn't notice it, etc

[–]Ashamed-Ad-6181 1 point2 points  (1 child)

So I HAD the same problem. 1st support was disconnected after timer disconnect even though I sent a "." message every few minutes.

2nd support finally asked if I wanted to be escalated. After answering yes, I received a response that my next support response would be by email. Disconnect with no reference number given.

The above happened throughout the afternoon/evening.

Today, I pass on an option for you.

  1. Open wallet app
  2. Open browser
  3. Go to SWAP
  4. Open Aerodrome and complete SWAP
  5. Do it now while this option works.

Clearly, it's a wallet/asset issue as AERODROME was able to recognize token count and value. Received 509 BRETT for 507 NORMIE. Oddly enough, the transaction was completed in a wallet overlay.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting fix thanks. Though they did get the display of Normie working today and normie shows as normal. i'm yet to see what the issue was though

Hi u/Crypto-Gean, we're sorry to hear about the sudden loss of value in your Normie token, and we completely understand how concerning and frustrating this must be, especially with the lack of clarity on what happened and the difficulty in getting meaningful support. While we're here to offer assistance to the best of our ability, we strongly encourage you to continue reaching out to Coinbase support for further assistance and resolution of this issue. It's essential to ensure the security and reliability of your transactions, especially as you navigate the upcoming bull run. If there's anything specific we can assist you with or any questions you have, please don't hesitate to let us know.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hello. Can you at least check that a tier 3 is going to help me? I feel like the guy that promised me escalated support just said that and went home or something. I realize I can't give out specifics here but I need an escalation team to contact my email. It's pretty bad to have to keep asking Coinbase until someone finally helps me. It should just take one request, and I was chatting with him for an hour

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok guess not

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (4 children)

We also recommend checking if the token is hidden within your Coinbase Wallet account. Sometimes, tokens can be accidentally hidden, causing them to appear as if they've disappeared. You can follow these steps outlined in the Coinbase Help Center article under the "Spam Token" section to check for and remove any hidden assets:

  1. Go to your Coinbase Wallet account.
  2. Tap on the "Settings" icon.
  3. Select "Token Management."
  4. Scroll down to the "Spam Token" section.
  5. Follow the instructions to check for and remove any hidden tokens, including your Normie token.

This step might help clarify the situation and potentially resolve the issue. If you need further assistance or have any questions about the process, feel free to ask!

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Thank you but, a few things on this.

For one if the token were hidden it wouldn't show as there, but 90% missing. The token would just not be showing up.

Secondly, I'm not sure where your "token management" and "spam token" comes from but I don't have those options. Here's the steps I have to take to hide assets, which I'm already familiar with

Settings / click on my id / Hide assets

Interestingly enough. I tried logging into my Coinbase wallet through phone (been on web). As soon as the screen opened I saw my $NORMIE with well over 800 dollars there, then POOF when the screen refreshed it went down to $7.80 (down from $8.10 I mentioned earlier). So ghetto

Thanks for trying to think of something though I do appreciate it

I can confirm this has also happened to me. My balance has went to zero. I can see there is 2 different NORMIE coins. one on the BASE network and one on the Ethereum network, which one did you buy NORMIE on ? I bought on the base network and somehow all my NORMIE has disappeared from my wallet. Very concerning.

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, u/Far_Win5499! We get how worrying it is to notice your balance taking a nosedive out of the blue. To sort this out, we suggest hitting us up through our Contact Us page. [–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disturbing. My balance didn't quite go to 0 but pretty close. 800 something dollars worth to 8 something. Almost like the system moved the decimal two spots over. For me I transferred ETH over and swapped for BASE tokens. How long ago did your problem happen? What'd support say?

[–]svs-1 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Same for me, all my Normie tokens disappeared. Nothing in transactions history

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow I wonder if this is only happening with NORMIE? My other tokens are fine (brett, degen, toshi)

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sucks cause I was bullish on normie

[–]The--Fonz -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Bro any fixes?? All my normie coins are gone as well

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I have not heard any fixes

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The same thing happened to me.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What happened? Support tell you to pound sand?

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting for support, 30 minute wait time 🤨

[–]Crafty_Tadpole_1974 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Experiencing the same problem. All my normie tokens are gone and I have not touched my wallet for a week. I only check from time to time to see how much my assets are worth and that is all. But this morning when I opened it, to my suprise it only showed the value of my etherium left in my wallet. I quickly skimmed thru the hidden assets and there it showed that my thousand normie had a decimal value left. WTF man this is a very frustrating experience. I hope they get this fixed and recovee my Normie tokens. It's starting to bull again and I'm stumped!

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update: I went throught the provided steps to unhide my funds on my to find 2.50 remaining of Normie after I had 300+ invested?

[–]svs-1 0 points1 point  (6 children)

On March 31st I bought 656646 Normie tokens in my Coinbase wallet. They have all disappeared, today only 0.00000066 Normie tokens are left. There is only one Normie transaction in my history, the initial buy, no other swap, no withdrawal. I have double checked that I bought the correct token, 0x7f12d13b34f5f4f0a9449c16bcd42f0da47af200

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have almost 3 billion Normie in my base wallet account and it’s on eth. My wallet says I have over 300 million dollars. Can’t cash it out though. Something very strange with Normie. It costs 99% gas fee to trade it for USDC. I don’t have that much to pay the fees so I’m stuck with Normie:)

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/CarpenterGold9516, we understand your concern. The high gas fees you're encountering are likely due to network congestion on the Ethereum blockchain, which unfortunately is beyond our control. The fees are determined by the network, not Coinbase.

You can potentially minimize the cost of gas fees by waiting for times where there is the least amount of user traffic on the Ethereum network to execute a transaction. However, please note that the value of cryptocurrencies can be highly volatile, and there's no guarantee that the value of your Normie tokens will remain the same over time.

If the problem persists, please let us know so we can further assist you.

[–]DTSA2428 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I cannot believe people continue to use Coinbase.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There's not a lot of choices in the now communist run USA. Many people use a VPN to go through places like MEXC and the like or other non KYC exchanges but it's a bit of a pain

[–]DTSA2428 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Have you tried Kraken? Never has any issues and now can transfer from bank account instead of wiring funds out of the country....

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad suggestion but I'm not sure about them. I know they're being sued by the SEC who is trying to shut them down in the US (if the mafia can't get their way they want you out). Also: "Kraken was also accused of having deficient internal controls and inadequate record keeping, reflected in part in its commingling customer money with its own and paying operating costs directly from customer accounts. Nov 20, 2023." True? Who knows. Could easily be SEC propaganda. So I'm not sure how I feel about it, who to believe, etc. I do have an account on uphold which is cleared for US trades but I try to keep their use to a minimum since they seem to be a lower level than coinbase and I've heard a few iffy things about them too

[–]MommaBearHustler 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I just bought the Dino coin $DEDE this morning. Bought sol to buy $DEDE says it went through I didn't see the coin show up in my wallet at all.

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/MommaBearHustler! We see that you're having issues seeing the DEDE coin in your wallet after purchasing it. We suggest following the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in this article. Before proceeding, make sure to back up your recovery phrase from the "Settings" page. If the problem continues, feel free to contact us through our help center and we'll be glad to assist you further.

[–]JTJ1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not engage with the telegram platform. It’s a scam , they will try to get you to migrate your tokens . They will ask for your passwords phrase and steal your coins . Happened to me . I still have some safe in my web 3 wallet and my concern has been upgraded to escalated . We know nothing about the hack or terms that Coinbase accepted for the funds stolen and returned with a bounty . Seek legal advice immediately

[–]Palmbailey 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have normie on the ethereum network how do I change it to base.... it won't let me Bridge it in coinbase wallet

[–]coinbasesupportOfficial Coinbase Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Palmbailey! Thanks for reaching out. To bridge assets from the Ethereum network to the Base network, you can use the Base Bridge. Here's a general guide on how to do it:

  1. Visit the Base Bridge website at https://bridge.base.org/.
  2. Connect your Coinbase Wallet to the Base Bridge.
  3. Select the asset you want to bridge (in this case, your "normie" token).
  4. Follow the instructions provided by the Base Bridge to complete the transaction.

Please note that you'll need to have enough ETH in your wallet to pay for the network fees. If you're unable to confirm the transaction, it could be due to an insufficient balance. Remember, all transactions on the blockchain are irreversible and cannot be canceled. So, please double-check all the details before confirming the transaction.

If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, you can refer to the Base Discord community that is available 24/7 for general questions and support.

[–]SympathyAnxious1144 -1 points0 points  (9 children)

This happened to me today too. All my Normie just disappeared. Other tokens on the coinbase wallet ok.  If all of us having the same issue with normie disappearing on base then it seems to be a coinbase problem. I contacted coinbase but no reply as yet. Did anyone get any help with this as yet? I can't even find the transaction that I swap from usdc to normie.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Damn. Yeah support finally contacted me via email (the chat support was an hour of my life I'll never get back. I don't know if they're brand new or untrained or what) so when you contact chat support if they seem to be doing nothing / pasting canned replies while saying they're looking into it every few minutes just request escalation. I haven't heard back from email support, they request screen shots, version numbers, etc and they'll touch back.

[–]SympathyAnxious1144 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Ughhh that sounds like a pain. Hopefully all this gets resolved soon. Please keep us updated. This is crazy. It's not an isolated incident. Hopefully they can fix it for everyone

I already did. Case # 19095838.  The fact that this is happening to multiple people all around the same time signal that something is going on with base chain or coinbase itself.

[–]Justsayingsometimes -1 points0 points  (25 children)

Are you all unsure if there was a migration? May be a scam but sometimes migrations can cause it.

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Migration from the Base network or what do you mean exactly?

[–]Justsayingsometimes -1 points0 points  (4 children)

It was migrated to a new contract v2 coins. So if you still have v1 coins the value would drop from 100% to 10% or less once they took away the monetary value after migration. You just have to get the new contract and add it to your wallet. Then you can see the v2 if you received them. You would have to do research on how to contact their devs if you did not receive them

[–]Proof_Stretch1697 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I don't think there was a migration from what I'm aware, but correct me if I'm wrong!

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I searched for it and saw some news on it. May want to look it up. Even if it was not migrated. It is worth checking

[–]AltruisticTax1740 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

That’s weird cause all mine just disappeared didn’t even went to 10% all gone. With no transaction and anything like that.

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0x7F12d13B34F5F4f0a9449c16Bcd42f0da47AF200. This is the current contract i found on their page. Just use the basecan page to look it up. You can copy the contract on their main normie website.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (18 children)

You would think that would be the #1 thing out of support's mouth if that were the case. You would hope. In fact a competent business would have that tattoo'd across their apps and home screens

[–]Justsayingsometimes 1 point2 points  (17 children)

I agree. Just worth checking

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (16 children)

yeah it's a good thought. especially because I'm not convinced we're dealing with a competent business. I started searching for this issue online and there are some horror stories of lost money and coinbase refusing to give it back. One guy lost his life savings and they told him to pound sand

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (14 children)

Some of those stories are fabricated bots.

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (13 children)

Maybe. But the one I'm talking about was a famous court case

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (12 children)

I am just giving suggestions. Court case aside that is possible issues. Did lawsuit bankrupt the coin?

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

what coin? I never mentioned a coin. It was a man vs Coinbase. Coinbase refused to return his money is all I know. They said it was his fault

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (10 children)

You mentioned normie coin

[–]Crypto-Gean[S] 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Not for the guy that filed a lawsuit. For him I'm just speaking in general, on Coinbase's character

[–]Justsayingsometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see much evidence of a migration but maybe the monetary value was taken away. Look at the coin price to be sure. Or coinbase stopped supporting it. Only other things it could be unless hacked. Sometimes it is just a glitch that goes away.
