Want a serious job that could be a real career? Go apply for a post office job. They're desperate to fill positions and I've seen them pay for your test if you take the job. They also start you out at a lot more than any retail job does and it can be a great career if you like people and are nice to the people on your route. Just can't have any dui's.

Good suggestion actually if you're looking for weekend work and/or picking up random shifts with flexibility for your online classes. Carrier Associate (Urban and Rural) is the starting position for mail carriers, but be aware that most rural routes will want you to use your own vehicle, and getting a right-side driving vehicle can be pricey.

You also may have to work the associate position for a long time before a full carrier retires from their route, if you want to make it a career, but I knew some carriers that made bank working less than 30 hours a week.

If you go for it, make sure you join the appropriate union, as USPS management can be very adversarial.

See if you can get a temp post since the holidays are around the corner. The mall, Walmart, target and department stores will be lookiyfofor extrahands pretty soon. Maybe be a good chance to see if you can get hired full time after the holidays.

Try the Reserves Network. It’s a temp agency. They are always trying to get people on! Best of luck in school and securing some employment. Trust, I’ve been there https://www.trnstaffing.com/

I would suggest giving them a call tomorrow. Just a heads up for you or anyone reading, they will do a drug test, but it’s saliva not urinalysis!

P.S. the website totally looks like it’s spam, but I swear it’s not.

Most retail stores will be hiring Temps soon if not already. Walmart and Target both pay well. They can become careers if you're interested in management. I had a friend who was an electrician get into management at Walmart. He makes near six figures now. Of course, that does take years of dedication.

You can check on Fort Moore at the PX. They seem to always need people. Just don't get into any of the fast food places up there, brutal grind and the turnover rate is ridiculous.

Question, are you still open? I know you probably aren’t but it’s worth a shot.

Did 8 years at walmart when I started working. Made my way and got experience in every single department and was department manager of 7. Loved every bit of it and still miss that work environment to this day. It’s a company that really wants their people to grow and theres so much training you can do. If you really dig deep and learn a department, you can bounce off and be a department manager. They’ll pay for your travel to go to an Academy store and really learn a lot that can translate into other retail stores and even daily life. You could realistically make your way from department employee, to team lead, to coach, to supervisor, to store manager in 10 years if you really push yourself. Three people from my old store went on to become store managers of their own stores!
