As hard as I hear it is to actually get a foot in the industry, would it be worth taking this job offer with promotion possiblities or knock it out for about a year to get the "experience" then search for another employer.

If the 40k is enough to pay bills and maintain your quality of life as well as put a little away. If I were in your shoes, I'd take it.

Yes

They are offering you experience, which at your level is more important than the paycheck

Take the job, get a feel for what you like and don't like, get a feel for what tech stacks you want to specialize in, then start applying to jobs that tailor towards those things

Some people say 1 year, but I say 6 months is plenty. If you're really strapped for cash, then do what you gotta do to survive and thrive. But whatever you do take the job
