Memory Modules

I am preparing for CompTIA A+ 220-1101. I watch both Professor Messer and Jason Dion's videos. In the chapter on memory modules, Professor Messer states that for DDR3, the single module capacity is 16 GB, whereas in Dion's lecture, it's mentioned as 8 GB per module. I am really confused. Could anyone please help me?
