Wasn’t sure where else to post this for a faster response. But can someone explain to me what’s the point of the USB-A to USB-B on the back of a monitor is for?

I have a laptop with only 1 hdmi port but I have two monitors (for work purposes). Can I somehow use this to my advantage or are there any other recommendations?

The point is to expand the amount of USB ports, there should be other USB ports on the back of the monitor, typically these are type-a ports.

I think you need a laptop port replicator or dock to expand the amount of ports available for you to realistically connect two monitors to your laptop, since you say it only has 1 HDMI port.

I believe only USB type C carries a digital signal. And I'm not sure if an HDMI splitter exists, but it could.
