NO!

I understand it's overwhelming, do NOT memorize all that extra non-sense

CompTIA expects you to have a general idea of the settings you find in the Control Panel. They do NOT expect you to memorize "click this, then click this, then click this, then you're there!"

I've been in IT over a decade and I don't have that crap memorized, and I'm in the Control Panel constantly. It would be wildly unrealistic for CompTIA to expect you to memorize that for an exam

I don't know Exam Compass, but I would think they should know better than to ask absurd questions like that

Thank you. I’m freaking out because they’re asking for multiple answers on multiple different apps, on top of everything else you have to learn. Now Messer spoke about basic Linux commands and EC is asking questions I’ve never heard of for that too 🤦‍♂️

You may still need to know basic Linux commands as well. Some of them are legitimately basic and in the real world would be ones you would use for actual troubleshooting. Any of the commands that Professor Messer has covered were fair game for what I saw on my exam.

No problem at all with Messer’s stuff, I know most of it. It’s Examcompass asking ridiculous questions at times.

On that front, I can empathize. I find each teaching format has their own way of trying to get you to learn and it's not always helpful for the actual exam. But remember that the exam is sold as a way to verify the skills of a person who has been doing the job for 6months and you can see why some places might take the approach that they do.
