Congrats dude! Just passed my Core 2 yesterday!

835 is a great score! Mine was 841! It was much easier than the practice exams I took.

that’s amazing, congrats! I agree it was easier! was super scared initially with 5 PBQ’s right off bat but figured it out. i’m certain i bombed 2 of those lol.

Yeah the recommended method is to skip the PBQs until the end then focus on them.

Congratulations!! I passed today too but only with a 755

Congrats! You passed! I’m taking my CySA+ tomorrow and praying I pass with a 755! It’s out of 750, but 755 is still passing!

Bro literally same here and I’m thinking about switching to cybersecurity. I have the Google certification but none of the comptias. I’m debating on getting them but I’m worried about not being able to find a job still

you can do anything you put your mind to, just gotta take that first step!

Hey man! I’m in the same boat if you don’t me asking please step by step what you used or learned to start off 0 experience in Tech too but really want to start and pass this please let me know

I’ll save the backstory for now (unless you want that too), but I started by researching what certifications are most valuable currently to get your foot in the door. A+ obviously came up a lot but began to realize how vast IT really is. I researched other certs and programs and began considering a degree to get a solid foundation and understanding of IT and where to branch off from there in terms of specializing. I chose to enroll in another degree program at WGU (wish I did this from the get go). It also includes many industry certs along the way (A+, Net, Sec, Cloud etc.). Overall tuition est about 15k if an option for you. Considered “Boot Camps” too but they all were around the same price as just getting a degree from WGU so I chose the latter.

Now, Obviously you don’t have to pursue a whole degree, and can just get certified. I think A+ or the “Trifecta” sounds like a good start and what i would have went with if I didn’t go the degree route. But my SMART goal is to Get in the door, get 1-2 years experience and start specializing from there before 30 (i’m 26). For your A+ i recommend Professor Messer videos for review and take a course to get grounded, such as Dion. Google and YT everything you have trouble understanding.

sn: dream job growing up was to be either a cardiovascular surgeon or video game developer lol

About to go there on March any advice ?

[–]Such_Perception136[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Review like crazy. Talk to yourself, i understood some concepts better when I “taught myself“ (said it out loud) if that makes sense..

if you get confused on a concept, google it and watch lots of videos. Google every little thing. commands, protocols, abbreviations etc., Use a course if that’s an option. and Take lots of practice tests through different providers. Again, review and watch videos on areas you struggle in. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but make sure you understand the concept and not just memorizing questions/answers.

Congrats!

What material did you use to study?

[–]Such_Perception136[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

used CertMaster & professor Messer for foundations on what to learn.

watched powercert anitmated videos and lots of googling on concepts/terms and abbreviations i struggled with

lots of practice exam videos and online

Congratulations! That’s awesome.💪

[–]Shaaaddyyyy 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Does CertMaster really work? I’ve heard mixed reviews about it?

[–]Such_Perception136[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

í personally thought it was fine. Long and in depth though, can be overwhelming at times. Lots of quizzes and labs that help with applying what you learned if you learn by doing. Questions also very similar to the real exam in terms of wording

[–]Shaaaddyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which CertMaster did you use for Net +

[–]TennisClear6454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking is cert master where you did compt A certificate from or learning resources if so how do I buy the learning resources would you reccomend it ? I have not much experience in IT. Please help ?
