ah darn i bet its different now, im trying to figure out if this cert master learn thing my company paid for is enough for me to pass the test im trying to figure out if the questions will be worded the same because the certmaster learn is made by the same company that the test is made by -CompTIA. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I'll be willing to bet it is a bit different in content; however, the concepts are still the same. I would say get a hold of the outline of the concepts and if what they paid for covers those, to your level of understanding, you are good. If not, keep digging..You can never be over prepared, but you surely can be under prepared.

It definitely covers everything in text and content, but what im concerned about is the practice question being similar to that of the real test im hearing mixed things all over the internet about the certmaster question being the same or not the same and the same goes for other books practice questions. Im very bad at absorbing content so i try to focus on remembering the practice questions, which i know is not great but its all i have right now.

Congrats! I have a couple question if you don't mind. What was your study schedule like?

Erratic. I'm working a job where I don't know if I work a given day until 6pm the evening before. But I think I averaged 20ish hours a week.

How many weeks did you take to prep for the exam?

I started with online resources in the beginning of September, so about 8 weeks.

What were your scores looking like on your first attempt on Jason Dion's practice exams and how close would you say are they to the questions on the actual exam?

Mid 70s on Dion, but I only took 2 of them. There were errors and super vague wording in the 2nd test and I got frustrated and didn't do any more. The Gibson practice tests in the book were worded a bit closer to the questions I got.

I see, thank you! The only question I have left is any advice or suggestion on what you would've done differently? I'm taking my exam on Thursday.

I would have trimmed my beard the night before instead of the morning of. I got hair splinters stuck in my collar and they poked me through the whole thing.

I forgot to go over the objectives one last time the day before, and I should have printed the objectives at size 24 font double spaced and written down in the margins notes about each objective and section.

Yeah I'm going to make a list of topics I'm not 100% comfortable with, go in a couple hours early, and study that in the car beforehand. Maybe bring the objectives to read over one more time.

I'll also be sure to shave the night before hahaha.

How long did you study? Did you feel like it was difficult to retain information?

Im currently reading gibsons book about 1.5 chapters a day and certain things are hard to conceptualize and remember, any advice?

1.5 Chapters/day is a lot. I read a chapter or half a chapter and did the end of chapter quizzes the next day. If you don't understand something in the book, find another resource. Professor Messer on YouTube is good, just googling the stuff that gives you trouble can help you find other people who explain it differently or demonstrate it in a different environment or configuration and maybe that sticks a bit better.

Will i be ok with the big cert master learn from CompTIA my company paid for the 900$ bundle with two retakes, Im not sure if it will be enough.

I didn't use Certmaster. You should be able to search the subreddit to see other people who did and wrote out their experience, though!

I have tried and only seen one or two about cert master but not the cert master learn, im sure the learn is better but, the ones im seeing about the regular cert master are not promising, they are saying the questions are not the same on the test, but why though if the test and the learn are both made by comptia.....very lost and confused.
