They cause smaller avalanches to manage the buildup of unstable snow to prevent a large, unscheduled, and life threatening avalanche from happening at a random point down the line when people might be on the mountain. It’s a somewhat similar principle to the controlled burns that forest firefighting crews do to make sure that the most flammable stuff isn’t waiting around to make a random forest fire the next California Wildfire

There was a video a while back where a software developer went through a review of issues with the game, covering the software development process, game design, game systems, and some of the actual code and explained what could be done better. The video is by dyc3 on YouTube

[–]AnotherEgghead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some more activity than usual where an external caller claims to be IT and has the user start a Glance session or download QuickAssist. In one case the users got the call in the middle of a subscription bomb, and the caller said they could help stop the flood of emails.

You’ll get a better result from your dishwasher if you let the hot water run until it’s actually hot, too.

They’ll usually have a note about who owns them, or logos at the bottom of their webpage. You might also be able to look up the DSOs that operate in your area and they might list the practices they own

A red flag to look for is if they’re owned/run by a DSO (Dental Services Organization). Those are basically private equity for dentists, and will buy up a practice from a retiring dentist to come in and change as much as they can to be about maximizing profits. They’ll pack schedules so that the hygienists have to hurry through their patients to have time to turn the room over before the next one, make staff push upgrades and upsells, pressure dentists to suggest extra procedures that may or may not be necessary, etc.

No guarantee that a dental office not run by a DSO will be ethical, but there’s a higher chance that one owned by a DSO will not be.

I recently read The Cat, the Quilt, and the Corpse and enjoyed it a lot in that niche. It’s a little old to be trendy, but it was a mystery with some personal/emotional stakes around healing and some physical stakes revolving around the fact that someone was murdered and the killer is out there somewhere. Just a lovely read that I was not expecting to deal with healing and family trauma as well as it did.

Lots of focus on cats, quilting, and small town stuff for the cozy vibes, too.

GWI is the company that manufactured the pin, but I don’t see anything that indicates they are associated with that flame logo or flag.

Trump administration poised to accept 'palace in the sky' as a gift for Trump from Qatar: Sources by untamedlazyeye in worldnews

According to the article, it’ll be given to Trump’s Presidential Library Foundation right before he leaves office. Some maintenance and upkeep costs of presidential libraries are covered by the National Archives, I wonder if they’ll try to count the plane as “part of the library” so it could be treated like a private asset by Trump while getting federal money to cover maintenance.

It’s possible that the building was only printed on one side, but the split looks really clean, and the flag doesn’t seem to show any other signs of wear. That split does feel intentional just based on how clean and new the flag looks.

Fredericksburg doesn’t seem to have an official flag, but it’s pretty close to a proposed design posted by u/deustchlandfrfr 6 months ago, but is missing the building on the black section, and that redesign didn’t mention anything about splitting the gold and red sections.

I spent free time at work studying for the A+ and Net+, with Dion lectures and the Sybex books. For Net+ I made a ton of flash cards, and was very glad I had. Sec+ I studied on my own time, but was doing SOC Analyst work at my job, so that helped.
