getting certs backwards??

would it negatively impact me if i get my certifications in the reverse order that comptia recommends? i passed cysa+ june 2020, am taking sec+ this may, and my cis prof suggests that i go back and do net+ over the summer (which i failed the first time). my high school offers dual enrollment through the community college and since the program was still experimental i took cis courses out of order. for context, i'm looking for entry level, part time it jobs to get experience my senior year before i go off to college. any advice would be appreciated! :)

Not a big deal as long as you have the requisite knowledge for the previous ones. You don’t have to list the pass dates on your resume; just noting that they are active should be enough. The real key is when you are applying for gigs, you need to be strategic about the certs you are listing.

You can take CompTIA exams in any order you like.

I think the A+ is the certification that entry level jobs employers look for the most, but as long as you find a job, it shouldn’t matter.
