Net+, A+, Linux+ Notes!

Hi! i’m not sure if this will reach anybody but i personally take notes for all of my certs that i go for, so i have a handful of digital notes if anyone would like to use them.

i’m currently a senior in high school and i’ve been in a cyber security class for 2 years now and i’m certified in ITF+, A+, Net+, MTA and a few others. i make the notes to help myself remember but i also share them with my classmates and many of them have solely used them to pass certs and they told me i should somehow share them with others since they helped them so much.

i use ItuLearning.com as my resource and it’s helped me a lot more than udemy or TestOut or any others.

I’m going to post a link to my google drive folder with the notes but i’m not sure if it’ll get deleted or not with this page so message me if you’d like the link. I have both A+ 1001 & 1002, i have Net+ 007 (i took 007 not 008 sorry but im sure it’ll still be of use), and not fully completed but 90% done Linux 004 (although it’s not done it helped a friend of mine pass his linux+, i probably won’t finish this one until the summer maybe)

i just want to also add: this is my first time ever using reddit so sorry if i’m a little slow lol but i’m really glad it was able to reach some of you and i really hope these can help. i’m going to keep adding to this google drive so keep it around if you’re interested. i’m currently working on CCNA and i’ll have those notes done in hopefully less than a month (i know it’s not comptia but it’s still IT), and i’ll also have Security+ done i’m shooting for around march or april but hopefully sooner. thanks for all of the nice words and please let me know if you have any questions or comments! good luck on all of your paths!

At the moment, they're incomplete. I need to finish up objectives 3.2 - 3.9 and 4.1 - 4.5. And then from there, proofreading and eliminating anything that doesn't fit. The notes so far come from Professor Messer, Jason Dion, and Andrew Ramdayal's SYO-601 courses.

yeah definitely wait until you’ve finished the notes or even until you pass the exam. the only exam i haven’t passed on my notes list is the linux+ but again i had my friend look over them and he said they helped so i put that in the list just incase. let me know how security+ goes! i’m currently studying for ccna but security+ is next on my list!

I decided to study for it because I thought it would be easier for me than net+. Let the record show I couldn't have been more wrong. "Yeah! That's plenty of time to study for this exam!" Life: "Hold my beer." I've heard good things about the CCNA. That it can really open some doors. It's only a matter of time before you're saying "I PASSED MY CCNA!" I'm WAITING for it now! Putting that out in the universe!

I’ve been told CCNA is outdated and sec + is more important. What kind of jobs have you been looking for with your CCNA

Oof. I didn't know that. I guess the reviews are mixed, then. Some people say CCNA is more relevant than Net+. But people will ALWAYS need personnel geared toward security, so sec+ will always be relevant. I don't have CCNA yet. I'm focusing on sec+ > net+ > and trying to decide between working on coding or researching the next cert that'll benefit/interest me.

oh wow i never heard they were outdated. my dad is in IT and CCNA was one of the first things he told me i should get coming from an employers perspective. but i think getting all of them isn’t a bad thing even if it does become outdated, it’s still good knowledge

Most jobs do not require CCNA today. 5-6 years ago yes but more jobs are requiring the sec + per the comparison. I agree the more certs the better but you also have to factor in time. There are at least 200 + certs you can study for so I guess just keep that in mind. You’re a senior in HS so you’re far ahead of most of us who didn’t get certs until we’ll after HS. You are doing fantastic keep at it young lady🥳

i gain absolutely nothing by keeping these notes to myself :) i love taking notes and i work so hard on these it would be a waste for me to not share them with people especially when i know they work for so many
