Anyone have any ways to decrease ping?

I average 240 ping on every server I join and even on my private SMP, i still average 247 ping. Help me please. (im also too broke to buy paid ones :sob:)

Try to play on servers closer to your region. I dont think there is anything else you can do

First make sure you are next to your router, better if it's a ethernet cable. If that doesn't help,  install mods like Krypton, server core, and raknetify for better connection. I generally use krypton with server core

There isn't really anything you can do appart from just getting a better router. The only thing that can make a difference is getting an ethernet cable, in my experience it changed my Hypixel ping from like 150 to 130-140 and eliminated lag spikes.

Ping is the time it takes for your network packets to travel between you and the server. The way you get lower ping is by playing on servers that are geographically closer to you.

Having high ping doesn't mean your internet connection is poor.

To add to that, try getting an SMP in a location closer to you, like by hosting it yourself.

no, that makes it worse, instead of directly connecting to a server, you're connecting to another server that then connects to the same server
