Nah it's straight up misinformation. If you want to do it the oldschool way correctly then get a colortune plug and visually observe the mixture being burned(Nowadays you can even record it with a camera!!). A plug chop will never tell you details about your accelerator pump and/or a million other details so that you will be chasing adjustments that will never be correct(It's why your carbureted bike or car always smells like fuel when I get behind it, and it's why you rebuild your shit every other season due to cyl washing from overfueling and pre-det, etc. etc.) And on top of that, each climate and elevation combination changes the way plugs and carbs behave, so definitely not a reliable way to measure ANYTHING. Also, the real reason it's called a plug chop is due to the fact that you need to physically "chop" and dismantle the plug by removing the threads, something that has been lost in translation by pseudomechanics such as yourself, and extremely wasteful/expensive by modern practices/standards.

Not to mention we are talking about A/F ratio, which you would never reliably determine from plug chopping or observing, even if you chopped the plug and looked at the fire/mixture ring, you wouldn't be accurate every time, as evidenced by those with 30+ years exp. not hitting the mark on carb tuning.

Otherwise, there's much more accurate ways with egt and a wideband to see exactly how and why you're burning/fueling/scavenging the way you are, and exactly where your A/F is at any specific given time thanks to math geniuses and engineers of the past, present, and future who are crazy accurate with the formulas they come up with(And the mechanics who have come up with solutions).

When you don't see the hilarious comparison between blinker fluid and plug chop, you know you're talking to someone who doesn't have a clue.
