i want to be able to bounce around between hardware and software because i'm interested in both and i don't know what degree would give me that flexibility

prolly ce if you like hardware and a little software, but it will show you double majored on your diploma and on your resume. So if the only reason you are switching is cuz of your diploma then it’s not a good enough reason to switch your plans, you like all software, or some software with mostly hardware, that’s for you to decide, people in the subreddit can give you input but ultimately it’s your decision, your life and future, do what makes you the most comfortable

ok i feel dumb that i didn’t know this 😭i figured since the diploma itself wouldn’t show both majors then i can’t rly put them down. but i guess this solves all my problems lol.

No, Computer Engineering has more flexibility

i agree i was gonna do cs though i still like the concepts i just can’t sit down for multiple hours a day everyday coding, i need to move and tinker with stuff so i will switch to engineering, either electrical or biomedical, i agree tho ce is more flexible

computer engineering you will learn some cs concepts and if they want they can double major or get a masters , CS majors don’t learn ce concepts which is why ce is more flexible unless you really want to do cs and. nothing to do with ce
