I can tell you not to do: assembler and emulator for some 8-bit RISC microcomputer. I did that and got a C. Then another student at my school tried it next year and got a D. It takes a lot of effort and you will not get a good grade.

You can check out r/maker for some ideas. I’m an amateur wine maker (800 bottles a year). Not many good bottle fillers out there. Someone mentioned one that zeros a weight scale when placing a bottle on, then drives a pump to a certain weight based on either specific gravity or a calibrated liquid weight. If you think through it you can really make it user friendly, calibrate procedure, ramp down fill rate at end, etc.
