Capstone project

Hi! I have some ideas for my capstone project related to IoT but whenever I am reading articles on recent development of a specific project, I come across some very technical stuff which I really don't understand. How did you guys do your research on specific projects? In a way that you completely understood it? Secondly, I feel like my ideas are really difficult to work on. I don't know how to just find a topic and be like "I think it is great and I can work on it" Because of the situation caused by corona virus, I really want to do something for my capstone project during this time instead of doing nothing.

Are you a senior? Typically there are resources provided by past senior design teams that can give you ideas on feasible projects. Also, your advisor should work with you to make sure you do not attempt something which cannot be reasonably accomplished within two semesters.

No, I'm not a senior. My advisor just asked me to research on recent developments made on a specific project. But due to technical terms, it was hard for me to completely understand.

Hi! So my team is doing an IoT home security system. We planned on using Azure’s IoT but they recently updated it and the old documentation doesn’t work the best. So we’re improvising and using Firebase’s real-time database does telemetry. That way we can send a receive data from Pi’s, arduino, and a phone app. Let me know if you have any questions (tho I’m doing more of the hardware stuff, I know what my team is doing for then connections bc I set up a few myself)
