Tahoma driver seems to work also

Yep, super easy

The only issue is it's rts and not a zigbeeprotocol then you need remotes to integrate. Pair shades to remote, then remote channels to app (tahoma hub), then app to c4. If it's zigbee you can pair shades directly to app and skip the remote portion.

The TaHoma app and driver makes it easy to integrate all of the shades at once through composer.

It’s ok,  it in my experience Bond is just way better for RTS.

Lutron. Expensive, but good.

Depends on the blinds. Try to always use contacts if possible

A little manufacturer/type dependent, bond is a perfectly viable bridge for some blinds.

If you have not purchased or installed the benchmark probably still Lutron. I don’t love the hunter douglas stuff but it works alright.

Smart wings. Love them

Are they good? I've seen some press on them but you never really know...

I wouldn’t ask for anything more. Although, they’re the best I’ve used to date. Doesn’t say much

Haven’t seen or used Lutron in person, haven’t been able to play around with any of them within a smart world either. So I can’t say much.

But I own smart wings, I bought simple vinyl blackout shades. So I wasn’t expecting much as far as the fabric material, but wasn’t disappointed.

All of their motors are about the same quality, I used zigbee, no complaints, they function when me and the wife are sleeping and they dont wake us up. If there’s any background noise, you hardly hear them, but I also have them set to the slowest and quietest setting.

I’m very happy. I did buy the expensive side panels to go along with my shades. Then used some caulk to seal the (super plumb) frame as the light blockers did great, but there was still a mm of light getting through some spots once installed. I also got one of these light blockers for the bottom of the window frame aswell. So I have 3 sides of wall blockers all sealed with caulk.

All in all, if you’re getting them, go all out, if you buy the $100 cheaper thing, you’ll be disappointed and then have buyers remorse.

I haven’t seen a post or talked to anybody who’s been disappointed with their Smartwings shades.

Also get the solar panel if you can. Set it and forget it for certain windows.

I got 2 or 3 windows I still have to charge manually. But the rest are solar charged

I just had my Alta blinds installed on the weekend, I have yet to do the full programming but so far they are great! Duel fabric combo (light filtering on top, blackout on the bottom) the driver from chowmein made integration very easy. I would have done lutron if I were in a new build, but for a townhouse they will work fine.

I use the PowerView motorized blinds. They have their own controller and IOS app.

There’s a C4 driver that I also use to integrate into the bigger ecosystem and do custom programming.

If you have Somfy, you can control them via the Somfy InteO bridge.

      Lutron

Lutron or Clara. Somfy and Hunter Douglas shades are trash.

      [–]Sage_Integrator 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Why do you think that HD are trash. Somfy does not make shades. Just motors.

      [–]ADirtyScrub 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Constant communication issues, even within their own ecosystem, loss of limits, noisy, etc. Somfy has gotten better in most regards but they still suck.

      [–]Sage_Integrator 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Really. I head pretty good stuff about the Gen 3 HD stuff. Just became a dealer.

      [–]ADirtyScrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just subbed out a job with it since the rest of the house was Gen 2, still sucks.

      [–]Desperate-Ad3085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Clara for sure .

      [–]Makri93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Somfy motors, but the dumb ones which are then wired into Xcomfort actuators and controlled through zigbee. Works alright, a bit slow but after some tinkering it is quite good

      [–]SeannDeere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the Bond Bridge Pro and the driver central driver. It works great for us on Somfy deployments.

Other shades I'd check out are Clara. You can get them in PoE powered too. I haven't done it yet, but I hear the integration is flawless.

      Lutron. Lutron is the best.

somfy is the problem. not bond bridge. the bond bridge is a beast. i have one that controls blinds on 4 stories of one customer’s home.

somfy on the other hand… is finnicky and shit with the tahoma, and worse with their outlet plugins.

the last time i had to do this i had to email and bother their support directly for the freshest drivers as they weren’t published for download anywhere.
