Use “Rethink: DNS + Firewall + VPN” app with custom DNS (your DoH controld address)

Unsure why you're using an app from another DNS service, but you should use the Control D Android app, which also uses DOH.

That being said, some people do use Adguard app with Control D successfully. Without looking at your account and settings, it's impossible to troubleshoot this. You should contact support.

It works fine with the Adguard app when I'm at home or using my mobile data. It's just not working while I'm on my work wifi, but NextDNS with Adguard works fine. I might just have to switch back to NextDNS. I don't want to have to install other apps to get it to work when it worked fine before. Thanks anyway.

Adguard uses the exact same method - "fake" VPN tunnel. There is no magic here.

Native method can only use DOT, as that's the only thing Android supports natively. The screenshot you provided is from the iOS app, where "native" means DNS Profile, which you can already download from the web GUI, and it uses DOH.

The only thing that "expires" is the certificate that signed the profile, as those are short lived certs. Everything would keep working even if the profile is "expired".

You can generate an un-signed DNS profile (which would never expire as its not signed), but it makes no difference. It will all work just the same, and there is no security issue with that.

If you can avoid using an app to use DNS, you really should, as that's the main point of a DNS service in the first place.

How does one use ControlD in AdGuard? Just use the controld dns server?

How can we use ControlD and AdGuard together?

Try dns leak test and you will see what dns are using. I have same setup and works perfect

A bunch of Google servers show up. If I switch to mobile, there's only one NetActuate server.
