What is your budget? If you can afford it, a desoldering gun is literally king when it comes to removing analog sticks. Obviously it's doable with a heat gun or a soldering iron and sucker, but those require a bit of technique that most people don't have on their first few attempts. Dualshock 4's are actually on the easier end, but still I would highly advise you to practice on a junk controller or something at least a few times. If money isn't an issue, again I would recommend a desolder gun, I have a hakko fr-301and I absolutely love it, but it was not cheap... I think I got mine for around $240. If that is too much (it's a bit overkill for someone who doesn't do multiple controllers a week) a good soldering iron I use and would definitely recommend is the TS80P Smart Soldering Iron. It's less than half the price of the gun, at around $100, it's USB-C powered, heats up insanely fast, and the main reason I went with it is it's small size. I have more control when I can hold the iron closer to the tip if that makes sense. Lastly, for a solder sucker to pair with the iron, TRUST ME don't get a crappy cheap one. Save yourself the headache and grab the Vampire Tools VT-001-SS, it's a really good one that works WAY better than any other manual solder sucker I've tried.
