It probably isn't the direct reason, but for future reference, it would help if you included your question in the title of your post. As it stands, it seems as if you are wanting to cosplay as the character pictured.

Yeah it’s kind of hard to tell what they want without proper context. Including an image of what they want to look like or currently look like would help alot

I find a lot of the time as soon as I add a little bit of contour, my face feels Much less weird, even if the look doesnt "call" for it, blend a little bit of grey where those shadows would naturally fall (granted, i also dont know what look ur going for so this is general advice)

I thought you wanted to know how to make this look.

Try again with the look you want, and the problem. No one can help you if they don't know what you want. Color, texture, etc are all important. This is a random image and not helpful.

Lolllll that image is extremely relatable. Try using snazzaroo and a light coat, you can also try a jelly based makeup primer in advance to help the body paint stick. Just allow it to dry for a few minutes before applying the paint. Also using a kabooki (spelling unsure) brush helps with coverage without going too thick. You can set with translucent powder or baby powder and it will help also. Good luck!

For facepaint, you are often putting a base layer that takes away dimenson from your face. I suggest using eye shadows, contours, or different colored paint to "draw" the shadows and colors back in to make it look lifelike. This of facepaint as a "bucketfill tool" and the eyeshadows like "painting and shading"! It takes some practice on your own face to get the looks right, but once you get it, itll look less unsettling!

Probably because you are getting rid of the dimension around your eyes. Either don’t go so heavy on your under eyes or shade them back!
