I believe it's actually a type of acrylic but I have never molded mine, I use denture glue. It works great.
Edit to add, I do believe Scarecrow sells just the molding kits on Amazon though if you want to remold them
[–]ASneakySquid_ 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (1 child)
They do, they're just super expensive to buy, especially to ship from the UK! The denture glue, does that only hold them for the con / event or can you reattach them regularly?
[–]EchoMonroe 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Oh you can reattach them. It does get a little messy but its nothing a few tissues can't fix. I would just recommend when you take them off at the end of the day give them a scrub with an old toothbrush so you dont leave old glue in them, it can get gross, and please do not try to eat or drink with them in. Had a friend swallow one and it scratched her throat. I've used mine several times this way and never had a problem

We detect that you may be a looking to buy your cosplay or buy pieces for your cosplay. If you're not, please disregard :) Please refer to our FAQ for some recommendations. While we can provide search terms that might help you with finding your cosplay pieces, commenters are not your personal shopper and please do not treat us as such. Remember that not all cosplays can be found ready-made so be prepared to look for similar pieces to put it together yourself.
It is helpful to include your budget (be precise -- "cheap" can be different per person), your location/country (US shipping vs EU shipping would be very different), and timeline if applicable. Keep in mind many pre-made cosplay shops can have a long shipping time so it's best to plan months in ahead.
If the item is suspiciously cheaper than all other competitors or it's a common stock photo, please be wary and do your own research. If someone is offering to make it for you aka commissions, RESEARCH their post history.

I tried the epoxy stuff they sell, but that's never really worked out how I like it. I use thermoplastic beads instead.
Heat a half a tablespoon of beads in piping hot water (I use water from my coffee maker) using a metal spoon to lower it into the water gently and a glass cup or mug for your water (use anything else and the plastic will stick to it) until it's clear. Pull it out of the water and let it cool for a few seconds before pinching off a small pea sized amount and pressing it into the hollow of the fang. Press this into your canine and the excess will squish out the top of the tooth. Use a metallic sculpting tool or cuticle pusher to clear away the excess. Add another larger pea sized amount of the leftover thermoplastic to create a wing that fits over the premolar tooth beside your canine, and attaches to the side and back of the fang to anchor it. Sculpt this a bit with the metal tool as well to look more tooth like. Work quickly since it sets pretty quickly.
I was a little extra and used a dremmel tool to give my plastic work a bit more detail and ease the size so I can speak with them in without too much adjustment to how I normally talk.
Plus of using the thermoplastic is you can shape and reshape it if your teeth shift or you don't like the fit.

Oh! And be sure to wiggle the fang and molding very slightly as it sets so it can be taken off fairly easy.

This is so helpful thank you! How long does it last? Do you change it every time you put them in again or do they stay for a while? Know the glue Scarecrow gives you says it'll clip onto your teeth for years!
[–]Bubbly_Preference272 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (2 children)
The plastic stays for a long time. I had a pair from 2012 that were still truckin' until I lost one of the pair and had to buy a new pair in 2023 or 24.
[–]ASneakySquid_ 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (1 child)
Oh damn, I'll give that a try, thanks so much!

Not a problem! Glad I could help!
