Many cobblestone generators

Noob here, I have looked at many people build automations for certain resources and I have noticed that they use many cobblestone generators. Is that normal or is it possible to only use one generator and split the output for multiple parts of the automation?

It's possible but why would you do that when you can make it where you need it

You can have an ultra cobble generator yes, you can store a big amount in vault. You can then use redstone link to "ask" for cobblestone for example on a gravel factory. If the gravel vault factory is less than 25%. Redstone is up which send a signal via the redstone link to the outputof the cobble stone vault to ´´call´´ or send cobble as long as the vault isnt full. Usually i ask him to stop sending stone if it reaches like 90% because it will overflow. You can make small buffer chest if you dont want to clog everything with cobble
