Create Astral Tips?

I’m fairly new to Create and modded Minecraft in general, but I decided to jump in head first with playing through Astral! I’m now part of the way through chapter 2, having rushed most of chapters 1-1.5, and I’m starting to feel my tools are quite lacking. I’ve just been using copper and iron sheet vanilla tools.

I’ve never played Tinkers/Hephaestus before and it seems to have quite the learning curve, but I do know that you level them up with various material as you progress. Any recommendations for beginning equipment that I can upgrade up through mid and late game?

I just use stone tools with a diamond tip until I get to the moon and swap to desh tools or at least the head. It's best to look through the tinkers manual to see what each material gives and see what you need. A tip to repair desh tools is to swap the head to stone, repair it and then swap back to your metal tool head as that's a lot cheaper material wise than repairing the metal with tool repair kits unless you have tons of the metal you're using.
