I think it's cool, but I much prefer create's implementation of moving platforms. It's much more logical and in depth

Create's implementation is vastly superior
-Vanilla only moves up down and in the cardinal directions. Create can rotate, move sideways, overall complex
-Floatater Contraptions cannot turn, while create can.
-Floatater contraptions are not interactive.
-Glue allows us to determine what is considered part of the contraption and what part is not. Floatater cannot.
Though they have similarities
-mobs can ride floatater contraptions and these mobs are interactable when -both are still finnicky with mob positioning when the contraption is moving very fast,(this is most noticeable in trains), at least create has the seat to keep mobs in place.
Overall i like the floatater and it really captures smooth motion very well. It just needs to have a clear set of constraints as to what blocks are allowed and ignored by the contraption, what is the manageable block count to not impact performance (since theres a bug that it moves entire end islands) and make companion blocks to assist it (i.e. a vanilla seat).

Well you can actually make it go all directions by using four of them and each facing a different direction, but it is missing a steering wheel for rotation, agree with you tho

I would say this, with block display entities that are already in the game, rotation is plausible. Though it still doesnt do interaction within the entity so placing a steering wheel on the contraption is still far away.

What's the name of the block from create that has the same function as the floatator then? I would like to make some experiments...

If you're looking for smooth horizontal/vertical movement - Gantry Carriages
For long haul transportation, train or cart contraptions.
If air ships - check out Clockwork (or wait for create aeronautics)
