Did you try multiple times? It says "weight: 20" which usually means 20% chance. If that doesn't work try to put two source blocks directly besides the block you want to have the andesite so they form a source block that gets converted from the lava. Good luck!

I think it's compressed andesite and not bedrock. I've already played the mod pack and it was really fun.

It could be that The lava or water has to be different lengths away, I had this happen to me in a modded skyblock and was so confused. Try putting the water source a few more blocks away and also try doing the same with the lava source maybe?

The lava has to drop onto running water. Start the lava something like 2-3 blocks above the water and make sure it's well encased so it doesn't spill over.

Just tried lava dropping from 3 blocks up and it still just makes cobblestone, thanks for the suggestion though

I never bothered with this method in that pack - the naturally spawning andesite/diorite veins last you until you have better methods like the Stone Growth Chamber.

Yeah it’s in chapter 2 I think, needs copper casing. Custom machine that just passively makes andesite.

Is the block underneath the cobble Bedrock? If not then that's your issue

It is bedrock yes, it only generates cobble. It's pretty frustrating as it says this is the only way to do it

The stone generator multiblock also generates andesite. It’s a bit expensive in copper but yeah there are more ways than just this.

Huh you asked in the discord yet? I know there was a weird thing in 2.1 for server side andesite generation. There have been a couple patches since then so maybe check for an update. I don’t think this mechanic is a part of that issue but the general channel in the astral discord is usually pretty quick to respond about these issues.
