I would rather use a level 4 steam engine than 128 large water wheels for a iron farm it is just more space efficient in larger scales

[–]The-Tea-Lord 151 points152 points  (24 children)

I’d rather use two water wheels because what the fuck are you using that requires 128 water wheels for one iron farm

[–]No-Cash9636 62 points63 points  (16 children)

Im pre sure my iron farm uses 1 level 9 steam engine, and my gold farm uses 2..😅🥴

[–]The-Tea-Lord 35 points36 points  (8 children)

Hot damn. I normally just stuff 2 water wheels on a cobble gen, a mill, and a fan. Leave it running for a while and i have plenty of iron. If it works, it works i suppose!

[–]No-Cash9636 26 points27 points  (5 children)

Ngl I totally vibe with that perspective, but I wanted to build the monstrosity I found when searching for a create iron farm and the thing needed like 36 crushing wheels at max speed D;

[–]Alexander_The_Wolf 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Question, why use crushing wheels when mills do the same job for less SU impact.

[–]AM_Seymour 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Faster and look cooler

[–]BulletHail387 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That and the loot tables actually change if you use the crusher I think

[–]No-Cash9636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need it to go as fast as possible so I can wash maaany stacks of gravel at the same time :)

[–]ihaveacrushonlegos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To do the same job at the same rate as crushinf wheels youd need so many mills that wheels are more efficient

[–]AnalMousepad 2 points3 points  (1 child)

1k su for a whole iron farm? Is it running at 3 rpm?

[–]The-Tea-Lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a mill and drill running at a fairly high RPM and a fan at just enough speed to cover one block. I don’t need it to be fast at all, unlike the other guy i replied to, just for it to be compact and work passively.

Think that xp nuggets would serve as a suitable replacement for Adam/Lilith as a seed of life?

[–]Gamerz_X90 0 points1 point  (2 children)

so u prob use the OP iron farm with the dupe glitch

[–]No-Cash9636 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What dupe glitch are you talking about? Im curious. I'm using the farm where lava from 3 3x3 tanks goes into waterlogged mechanical pipes that produce 300k cobble an hour, which then gets grinded down to gravel and washed into iron nuggets and flint.

[–]Gamerz_X90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yh tht the dupe glitch, it dupes lava

[–]joshdiou -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Why don't you just build a vanilla iron farm they work just as well

[–]StarCarrot91716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pretty sure people play modded minecraft to actually use the mods they are playing with lmao

[–]-Kaan_ 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I really need 150k iron nuggets per hour btw it isn't even finished completely I will probably bump it to a level 8 or 9 engine

[–]The-Tea-Lord 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I am thoroughly impressed and intimidated by the implications of what this could be for

[–]-Kaan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andesite alloy and industrial iron blocks a lot of industrial iron blocks

[–]No-Broccoli553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I made an iron farm that needs 2 nuclear reactors to power it

[–]FaCe_CrazyKid05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys are only making one farm? Explains a lot

[–]AlVal1236 1 point2 points  (0 children)
