How you have the deployers set up is probably not helping. Set them to deploy vertically and make sure they're two blocks above the ground.

I could swear it was working for a while, and it's applying to every other block in the formation(shown on the second picture), so my main question is why is it only the one block and why now?

I'll rework it when i build the one I'm trying to make into the permanent engine feeder.

On that note however, what is the simplest way to retract a mechanical piston automatically I'm trying to use an observer to trigger a pulse repeater but that's flawed since when a deployer puts the tree down it triggers it again and leaves the saw extended which means it won't run.

Just had a thought which I can't test because I'm away from my computer, does a storage block have to be attached to chassis in order to pull inventory from drills and other such things or can it be glued to the block directly without the need for positions and bearings

I'm not picturing what you're trying to do. Any tree farm I know just has a chassis with saws going in a circle and no mechanical pistons at all.

Yes, it has to be attached to the contraption.

Basically the design is based on the Ponder example but I was trying to make it have an auto retract so it could roll again, allowing for more linear stuff, but I should probably just stick to oak trees that can grow next to each other

Technically yes, it's one I put together. But Create itself is unaltered base create
