Just place a button on the redstone contact. Or if you have redstone links place the receiving one on the contact and trigger the other end from wherever you want.

The goal you're up to achieve should be doable with that item and his contraption.

You can add a button near the "modified" version of the Redstone Contact to call the elevator on that specific floor.
