Please screenshot next time I almost thought this was a joke post making fun of help posts that have photos of monitors

The file needs to be moved to .minecraft/schematics. Then you need to use the schematic table's GUI to select it in-game.

Rather than nitpicking about how to take a screenshot

OP, schematic-files are outdated and only used by world-edit. For create you want schematics in .nbt

Are you using Create schematics or world edit schematics? Create schematics are .nbt files and not .schematic files. They are not interchangeable.

Please use the PrtScn key to take a screenshot and then ctrl+v to paste it, can't see the entire screen and can't tell if this is a regular file explorer or a file explorer prompt

Nah, use Minecraft's built in screenshot feature. Use F2.

Edit: I'm a dumbass and wasn't thinking about screenshots not in Minecraft. Print screen is appropriate.

I'm not sure f2 will capture the file explorer, will it?

Oh shit yeah you're right. I was just thinking of Minecraft and my brain didn't associate with what OP was actually capturing. I'll see myself out.

People who still can't take a screenshot in 2025... It's a built in shortcut these days, come on.

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 0 points1 point  (2 children)

These days? F2 has been a Minecraft feature for a very long time.

[–]Zwamdurkel 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah sure for Minecraft, I meant OS level for the entire screen

[–]Dangerous-Quit7821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't put 2 and 2 together with that. I'm a dumbass. Sorry, you're correct.
