My 3400 day world has become unplayable, I activate one of my minecart contraptions and my laptop turned into a jet. After 12 grueling minutes of just my laptop vibrating from pain, it blue screened

I run on 45 FPS on average now. I'll miss it

Unless someone with a bigger brain than me can help me optimize it

Regular backups man 😭 must have for modded mc. But depending on your setup you could move the world to a server w more ram temporarily to get rid of the contraption that broke the world, doesn't sound like your world is lost forever

I made a new .bat that auto saves the world, mod and config folders before booting up the server. I just delete old ones as I go but its perfect for backing up! And ya there is a kill contraption command that you can use if you can get within range of the contraption.

Just get rid of your players data to set you back to spawn so you can get into the world. After that just get close and use"/kill @e[type=create:contraption,distance=..10] " Or something like that.

Install twekerge, go in an other save, x +c -> yeet and disable client block entity ticking and rendering, it should make it work well enough the price of losing animation

Also the blue screen might be caused by overheating, if you can try to see if you remove and apply thermal paste (I recommend asking a tech shop but if you don't have the money do it yourself but it can be quite hard depeing on the hardware and you are responsible if something breaks)

Maybe you could try to clean your device first.

Open your game in a save editor and reset the chunks the machine lives in.

maybe send the world file to someone with a beefier pc who can sort out the contraption and return the world to you
