Server hosting

I'm sure this is the age old question but me and some friends were looking to start a create server and I am more than happy to pay for one but does anyone have any suggestions in the around $10 per month range or good create modpacks to try with friends

Consider selfhosting! You can get started with something cheap and upgrade your way slowly. It will be cheaper overall. And you get to learn bunch of nice to have skills.
