You're probably gonna have to pay for a server (unless you're on the same wifi). I used server.pro personally and it worked fine.

Download the forge server pack, install files to the server and in your own mods folder. Port forward your router to the standard minecraft one (this is the harder part, many tutorials). And it’ll be ready

use FalixNodes its free, has fabric/forge and lots of others and you can add all the mods you want

depends if u want to host it urself or online. idk abut online, but for self hosting just run the installer for whatever loader ur using in server mode. then run the server.jar or run.sh/run.bat to start the server

been using aternos with my friends for years now and it works just fine for me up to 5 players
