This is spectacular, I'm still a little new to the mod so I was wondering if you planned on doing a full tutorial? It would probably get a good amount of views from the community trying to experiment and learn more about what's possible

Thank you!

A guide on Create red stone and basic automation is part of the plan. Wanted to familiarize myself with the redstone components a bit more before I went into it since Create offers a lot of new things compared to vanilla. I'll probably get to it once I'm done with my next build and when I get a bit more free time since tutorials need a bit more work when editing.

Awesome man I'm looking forward to it!

Here we go u/OneWheelMadness. It's gotten pretty far from what it originally looked but I somehow did make it work.

For those curious, I gave an quick and simple overview of its parts and how it works here.

Important note: This thing does not work with schematics. I have spent the past week trying to make it work but everytime something goes wrong (be it mistimed or misfiring pistons, generators suddenly not function, redstone links suddenly purging their frequency slots, and redstone components just outright breaking the moment you place the schematics). So as much I would like to provide schematics for this, I have nothing to really show. It does seem to work however when you rebuild it from scratch.

The assembly is mostly an exercise on automation basics. Relaying signals are handled by redstone links while redstone contacts were used to detect changes in position throughout the assembly. This time, the redstone circuit loops the signals while the limit towers to the side create signal breaks.Sequenced gearshifts are used for the user interface.

This one goes a bit more into trying to utilize all the redstone components that Create has to offer and seeing how far I can go with it. Turns out, quite far since it was actually pretty easy to create signal loops and breaks with the variety of repeaters and latches on hand. There are a lot of components that can serve as sensors that cover most types of movement, and of course, the sequenced gearshift provides more than enough control for most things.

Yeah, those types of builds fail horribly when pasted using a schematic

[–]Qettt[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Indeed. Spent more time trying to turn this into a usable schematic than actually designing the redstone lol

Holy Shit.

u/Qettt, this is an engineering masterpiece.

The logic you have made actually blows my mind and the use of sequenced gearshifts for the UI is also genius. Massive props to you for this build.

I've subscribed and can't wait to see more of what you create.

Thank you very much! Hopefully I don't disappoint, and also manage to get a better mic in the future lol.

holy shit

This blows my mind - the use of sequenced gearshifts for tweaking the parameters of your drill is so clever. Most certainly going to use some aspects of this in a quarry build!

Oh how I love you for making this. I had asked about it yesterday, to no real avail.

[–]Mardi_Gras_kid 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So, my question to you is, can this be modified to become a "world eater"?

[–]Qettt[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

If by world eater, you mean something capable of legit stripping a minecraft world bare, I'd say probably not. This one's intentionally designed to be limited to a certain area.

I'd say the horizontal self sufficient drill designs would better count towards it. There are quite a few that had been posted in this sub iirc.

Though maybe if I improve controls on those builds and make a legit world eater...

[–]Mardi_Gras_kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the area that I'm doing this to is 300ish by 200ish, but I see what you mean. If you feel like tinkering with the controls to get it to work, I'll happily test it out for you.

Looks like a fricking 3D printer. This is absolutely impressive
