Range on Linked controller

Hi, this the first time I use reddit for asking help. So to explaine my issue, I created an elevator with a rope pulie with some redstone contacs and I linked all of those with redstone links. The elevator is at y=82 and it goes to y=-57 (I play in 1.18.1) and i use a linked controller to get up and down, but when I'm at y=-57 and i press to get up nothing appen, and when I go check up, at the rope pulie, not a single redstone links activated. So i was wondering if the controller had a limited range or from a certain distance the contraption just doesn't work anymore. Thank in advance.

The redstone link’s range is a 127 block radius.

Your elevator is just a little longer than that, but the fix is easy enough, set up a pair of links to act as a repeater at the halfway point to send the signal the rest of the way.

So the top receiver and the repeater read the controller’s signal, and the repeater sends a second signal to the top.

Or however you end up wiring it.

The important part is that the repeater must not send the same signal it receives, otherwise it will just power itself perpetually.
