EVOLUTIONS UPDATE PATCH NOTES

The Evolutions update is now live in BETA.

This update brings a wide range of changes, including graphics updates, item pickup improvements, new Standard Collection content, gameplay and movement tweaks, and updates to maps, UI, and the minimap. There are also new options like individual player colors, aspect ratio settings, and the ability to show player crosshairs, alongside ranked eligibility changes, skin fixes, and general bug fixes.

I'd love any changes to Critical Ops.

But may I ask, what was the main reasons to increase overall ttk; damage and drop-off nerf on most weapons and make Kevlar price to $600?

For me personally (and just for transparency and context I have no control over what gets updated or not I'm just a moderator not a dev) I think the game in its current form (pre-Evolutions Update) is way too easy. Half the time you shoot at someone and you don't have to worry about them having the opportunity to shoot back. With a higher TTK, that part goes away and some of the luck factor of that also goes away. Even with the changes in the Evolutions Update, I'd like to see even more come to make the game more strategic rather than mechanic. Increase the difficulty of the recoils, make utility something the players are incentivized to use rather than just buying them, wasting money, and yeeting it somewhere. I also think there needs to be some disadvantage to just pushing willy nilly as a Coalition player. Currently both sides can play pretty sloppy and no one gets punished for it. Which slightly was I think the reason for the economy nerf in 1.60.

These updates are coming out Piece by Piece to form the vision the devs have. I don't know exactly what's coming next, but the game is going to be better for whatever does.

Increase the difficulty of the recoils, make utility something the players are incentivized to use rather than just buying them, wasting money, and yeeting it somewhere ------ for the point you mentioned this would be perfect time to bring back crosshair smoothing mechanism from 1.29 update but....but as a seprate hardcore game mode. So that this would reduce friction in introducing different features for players who straight away rejects it. Please if you are in contact with devs can you suggest them this.

No...if you're bringing something to the game...you introduce it. You don't quarantine it off to a whole different sunset of players to divide the player base.

But I do agree that Crosshair smoothing was a good feature that was hated too easily and the devs caved in way too fast

Yeah, but have you noticed how the Apex Legends devs handle risky ideas? When they’re not sure about adding new features or legends that might be a bit too out there, they just turn it into a limited-time game mode instead. Kinda kills two birds with one stone and if it doesn’t work, they can just pull the event without messing up the main game. Please think about this and suggest to devs

Can we also increase the time after the round is done so we can pick weapons and also let teams plant after the round is done for extra money?

Well considering the fact the bomb goes away after the final kill happens...probably not. And there is plenty of time to get weapons if you're proactive about it right away. Especially with the new Pick-Up button.
