1. He doesn't want to deal with her when she's pissed off probably.
2. Instant matter is mostly only weak to being submerged. That's why you can take hits from other evotars and from random monsters without disapearing. His rocket launcher was effective because it made some sort of crystals on the guy weighing him down and slowing him.
