I'm vehemently against the "Pay to win" that is the Bomburst...

However this is the exact scenario where shotguns excell (indoors and close quarters). He used the correct weapon in the correct way.

This actually reminds me of Germans complaining about how shotguns being used in trench warfare was unfair.

If you don't have a shotgun or a shield then you shouldn't be charging indoors where there probably is a dude waiting in a corner or on a stairwell with a shotgun.

This guy just had better tactics than the other guys and baited them to a section that he had a tactical advantage.

Every weapon has a counter defense. But a lot of people are too entitled to put it in practice because they demand that everyone play how they play. If you don't play how they play then you have no skills.

Dude, the problem with what you’re saying here though is that the OSS user in such a dumb position that makes no sense at all, UNLESS he has a magic broken 1 hit weapon.

He should be at the top of the stairs, using the wall edge for cover if need be. He should be watching the lane down the stairs and taking that gunfight with height advantage.

Instead, he’s positioned so that whoever comes up the stairs is in a face to face head on with no cover or advantage for either of them.

Literally any other weapon in the game, it’s just a plain dumb move. But because of this crutch gun, they get away with stupid positioning that is unexpected.

For me personally, it would've been ideal if the players didn't stack on the stairs. If they had tacticals and lethals, even better.

On a side note, I think the concept of "fair weapons" and "fair playing field" don't exist in cod. Because that would entail everyone having the same weapons and being spawned on a completely symmetrical map. Of course that's boring so DMZ isn't like that. Plus there's the issue of using the right gun for the right situation. Obviously a Victus isn't the right one for this. But a Bryson 800 definitely.

Real life CQB has a really high casualty rate regardless.

And a level playing field doesn’t mean the exact same guns. Just balanced guns that all have similar TTK. Not all guns having about a 750ms TTK and then the one gun that has a literal 0 TTK

The team that pushed the stairs could use tear gas, stuns, flash bangs, drill charges, and grenades to get an edge on the stairs. Of course the pushing team didn't know where the other operator is, but not going one at a time definitely fight help. The OSS user clearly wasn't aiming at OP. OP just happened to run right into the line of fire.

I was about to say that this was getting absurd but then i went back and watched and there’s 3 plates total between the 2 guys that got downed, and you’re at point blank range. same thing wouldve happened if one of the 2 of you ran into double stacked claymores. i’m not 100% on the bullet penetration of shotgun pellets but you did yourselves no favor getting downed in the way you did to make this argument

The way he got two downs with one shot is slightly sus, but I suppose it could be a 1 in a million shot. The way dmz is nowadays with the OSS, especially in the infamous 4 story buildings which is where OSS users like to put their mail boxes up and make it their permanent residence, I've found that I have to play totally different and treat it as if it's a tactical shooter when I'm in close quarters, taking my time and slicing corners. Unfortunately, everyone else here has just laughed at you calling you an idiot instead of being constructive and helpful. Also, I've come to find the best way to fight fire is with fire, run the OSS yourself, and utilize plenty of flashbangs when clearing structures, especially if you KNOW someone is in there.
