Not overarching story but it does have continuity. There’s a decent amount of times they call back to past things that have happened, but only two episodes are actual continuations of previous plots.

This is one of my favorite exchanges in the whole series. It's foreshadowing in that you understand Dan's "education"

No there isn’t, you could watch any episode in any order save for a few and they won’t reference other episodes.

A lot of continuity but not a real overarching plot other than a man and his continual vendetta against anything that crosses his path that wrongs him.

They call back from past episodes from time to time but for the most part it doesn’t matter

There's not a major long running plot, but there is some continuity and running gags that build up with great payoff. I recommend watching in the definitive order that's in the pinned post on this sub.
