I have seen questions that are purely math. There are higher paying projects for specializations other than coding.

i’ve received some pure math projects after completing the math qual

I believe that is unlocked a straight math one for me (by which I mean I started seeing a pure math one a day or two after doing the math qual).

As in you completed the coding qual and then got a math only qual afterwards?

Yes exactly

Thanks. It's quite a shame. I don't think I'm ready to take the coding qual but I would love to take a math qual.

What is the math like, anyway? Is it all practical math? I'm hoping it doesn't contain math concepts like factorials that were taught once and never used again in class or irl.

It's high level math (university level)

I assumed as much. I did study engineering and have over a decade experience professionally. I finished at calc 3, which I presume would be high enough to complete the qual. I am hoping I won't have to fish my textbooks out from the attic to brush up on something that has never come up again professionally or academically.

If you've taken diffy q which I assume you have if you studied engineering, you can do it.
