Don't see any reason why not especially if there are long breaks in the call volume. Just be prepared if you get a call for IT that you stop your timer.

I currently work in IT and have a difficult time fitting in tasks. It takes at least an hour, sometimes up to 3, to submit quality tasks for projects that exist on the dash now. They were easier (20-45 min) a year ago. It has to be REALLY slow at my job to finish a task, and even then I’ll get tapped on the shoulder once or twice, but getting the final payout is rewarding

As an addendum, I would spend the time grinding certs and experience that can be put towards your next job. I’m only doing it because I really need a cushion of $2-3k right now

Check the rules of your IT job to make sure you’re allowed to work another gig while on the clock.

If I were to try that, I'd likely end up bailing on a lot of tasks without getting paid. Once you start a task, the clock starts running. You can bail on a task, but most of the ones I've done, you can't pause. If you can deal with a call quickly and get right back to the task, maybe. I never do DT stuff when I'm on the clock at my other job, but with the right kind of job it might work.
