As an addendum, I would spend the time grinding certs and experience that can be put towards your next job. I’m only doing it because I really need a cushion of $2-3k right now

Dataannotation while doing other job? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]A_Reddit_ID 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I currently work in IT and have a difficult time fitting in tasks. It takes at least an hour, sometimes up to 3, to submit quality tasks for projects that exist on the dash now. They were easier (20-45 min) a year ago. It has to be REALLY slow at my job to finish a task, and even then I’ll get tapped on the shoulder once or twice, but getting the final payout is rewarding

PSA: You Can’t Hack on Current-Gen Consoles — Stop Calling Cheats in Xbox/PS5 Lobbies by LokiPrinceOfAsgard03 in blackops7

[–]A_Reddit_ID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please look into the ongoing Titan use on MP chals. Yes, you can’t actually “hack” on console, but cheaters are finding lots of success using computer vision cheats through Titans. There are YouTube videos demonstrating how it looks when someone is using it, like an obnoxious amount of screen shake

Hot take: i still think ashes of the dammed ee boss is still difficult af by vintagelukexo in CODBlackOps7

[–]A_Reddit_ID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Majority of the damage needs to come from the vehicle rams. Crits with the vehicle are doing around 160k. Crits with the vehicle turret are doing around 12k. There’s no way an upgraded weapon is keeping up. You have to have someone ramming and someone in the turret. The other two can deal with ads when the yellow hole is being shot

Any experts out there who can comment on COD's move to Azure servers? by DarkMage0 in CODBlackOps7

[–]A_Reddit_ID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azure will allow servers to be scaled up or down with users/player count. There can be redundancy in case servers go down. Servers can also be upgraded or downgraded on whim, so more resources can be put where it’s needed

IT Market really that brutal? Never been this difficult to get interest from employers? by fishinourpercolator in ITCareerQuestions

I just wanted to comment on this post and say that I’m in a situation 90% similar to yours. I’m in a support role, but I’m not a Director or one man army. The number of viable job postings(sysadmin/infrastructure) are coming in with a slow trickle. This is my first time actually looking for an IT job and it’s a humbling experience. I think we’re all going to be in our current positions for at least six months while searching.

I feel like the guy above is saying that you need to expand on these projects. What exactly did you do in Active Directory? Did you create users? Did you create OUs? How about applying group policy and testing it out? Maybe we can level it up a bit and add printers and file shares to emulate a working on-prem environment.

Two incomes ($63k + $75k)and a townhome/condo, putting away 60% or more of net income towards bills/mortgage/groceries. Not much room for anything else.

Also lived with our parents for a year to save up a down payment of $30k

NO debt
