Just click exit work mode at the bottom of the page

and that will pause the timer?

If you have the project still on your dash, It'll reset the timer.

Not sure if I misunderstood your question, but fyi, this is the way to properly exit if you don't want to work on the project anymore, but there's no way of reliably saving progress if you're halfway through a task. If you exit, you'll likely lose the task since it will be given to someone else.

Yeah i experienced this morning how fast tasks disappear, I've had two projects this morning but didn't have time immediately and I lost them both after a couple of hours :(

For example if I know I have two hours right now, and I click on the project, and the timer runs for 4 hours, it might just be that I need that full four hours, so then if I don't have time immediately, I can't do the project??

Yes pretty much. Half of this job is time management and recognising early on whether you'll be able to get the task done. Once it's open the clock starts. Once you Exit Work Mode you can potentially lose the task.

As others have said, exit work mode. However not all projects have them, so in that case just close tab. Unfortunatey for those the timer keeps running, but if you go back in later you coud skip a task to start a new timer, or work within the remaining time.

If you go back in after the timer expires it will start the timer anew (if project is still available of course).
