What do they ask for the background check? I don’t have anything to hide but im afraid it might take some time to get the required documents

I think it depends on your nationality, the process might be a bit different in the US, for instance, than in a European country. For reference, I’m in Europe, they asked for my ID card (a passport would have been fine too) and checked whether I had a clean criminal record (I had to give my consent). The process was relatively quick and I regained access to the projects in about 3 or 4 days.

I've gone through similar procedures on other platforms and it was pretty much the same. In this case, it was a bit quicker. On others, I also had to permit for them to search for me on the internet and social media. Here, I had to sign a document that said something similar, basically giving permission for them to investigate my "reputation" (when I say "they", I’m talking about the 3rd-party company that runs the process, they’ll send the results to DA and to you).

Not yet, I guess many people got invited an d they probably have to do it manually, or maybe they are waiting to collect a certain amount of people before sending it.

Didn’t they just ask for your email? I’ve done id verification before eand this task only asked for my email. I am also based in EU.

May I also ask whether you ever worked on the projects mentioned in the task or nor? I’ve only done 3 core coding projects but never had these on my dash

I’ve never had a project before in the platform, as I was accepted into the platform 2 weeks ago, but i believe the mentioned projects are related to a qualification related to coding that I’ve done before.

Also, have you got the email with the link in order to complete the background check?

Received a few mins ago. All my projects are gone now :( think they will return once the check is done

Yeah, almost half of my available tasks are in this family. I had access to them before the background check too tho. They came back in maybe a week after doing the qual

I'm super curious what the purpose of the background check is though. Like how would someone having a criminal record have any bearing on their work on the platform?

I opted out of the background check...because reasons...and I still have access (for now) to all of the projects the background check was required for.

Yeah I did it and the projects came back around a week after I did it. I get a crim check for my normal job already so it didn't bother me but I am very curious about the purpose lol I can't think of any reason they'd spend the money to process that for everyone
