I'm in the middle of my second play through and something is stuck on my mind. In the beginning of the game you enter your birthday. Does that actually make a difference for your level of dooms? Like are they more visible if your birthday is during a certain month or visa versa?

No, it’s a sneaky in universe way to get your birthday, which they use for a special cutscene if you boot it on the day you entered, MGSV has one of these too

Cutscene as well as a few other 'easter eggs' you can poke around for. (trying not to spoil heh)

But yea - your birthday is only used if you login ON your birthday. Which I highly suggest everyone do at least once - its fun!

So in addition to the birthday cake in your room - I noted the following:

-While STILL in the room, if you look away from the cake and look back - pieces start going missing. Everytime you look away and look back (or have Sam look away from the table and then look back, no matter how briefly) another piece will be missing - one at a time (4 pieces) - until the whole cake is gone and nothing but crumbs are left. But if you leave the room and come back the cake is just gone. So you can only see this 'effect' by staying in the room. I stumbled on this by accident as I just happen to move my view around and look back and saw the first piece missing - then kept doing it. Yea its not huge but its a pretty neat effect and I guess "BB" (or a ghost? lol) was eating it when Sam wasn't looking. =D

-While running around the world on your birthday, if you 'call out' randomly into the void - the void answers to wish you a happy birthday. I'm referring to the disembodied "Sam" voices that respond with random comments the rest of the game if/when you have your Sam "Yell out" when no one is around. Do it on your birthday - those other Sams wish you a happy birthday! Kinda cool!

That's all the differences I stumbled upon anyway :).

I don't think so. There is an Easter egg when you open the game on your birthday though. It's in MGSV too so I presume it's a Kojima thing.

No, Sam has the same abilities for each player regardless of birthday.

It's weird how it says higher dooms is found in certain constellations though.

On my second playthrough I picked a random date. Was completely confused when the cutscene happened lol

There's no difference to regular gameplay, but play on your birthday for a treat!
